Job Description & Qualifications
Job Overview
The Clinical Director at Triangle ABA is a pivotal leadership role responsible for supervising and guiding BCBA and RBT teams to ensure consistent client progress, efficient clinic operations, and high-quality ABA therapy delivery. This role includes developing and maintaining clinical procedures in a playbook to ensure consistent practices across the team. The Clinical Director is tasked with driving team performance, maintaining high billable hours, and ensuring program compliance while aligning with the company's strategic growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Supervision & Program Development:
- Oversee BCBA Pods & metrics for all BCBAs at the assigned clinic location
- Increase leadership skills and quality metrics for all BCBA pods
- Oversee BCBA caseload numbers and ensure all clients achieve 80% or higher billable hours for at least one month out of every six months.
- Develop comprehensive programs in Central Reach, including descriptions of target behaviors, error correction methods, data collection protocols, and reinforcement schedules.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and create Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for clients with maladaptive behaviors.
Supervision & Team Oversight:
- Supervise RBTs and BTs, ensuring 10% supervision for each client.
- Conduct monthly supervision sessions, complete detailed supervision forms, and provide actionable feedback.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews for RBTs and BCBAs, addressing performance issues, and implementing performance improvement plans (PIPs).
- Provide formalized performance feedback to staff within set timeframes.
- Caseload hrs of 200 per week oversight at 10% per month of cases
Quality Assurance & Documentation:
- Ensure all client programs, FBAs, BIPs, and treatment targets are up-to-date and documented in Central Reach.
- Ensure compliance across all BCBAs with Plan of Care (POC) reviews completed 45 days before due dates and submitted to the billing manager on time.
- Increase monthly parent training for each client.
- Oversee intake assessments for new clients, ensuring equitable distribution of cases across BCBAs and achieving quarterly intake goals.
Clinic Management & Culture Building:
- Oversee clinic operations, manage staff morale, and organize team-building events to foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure clinic performance meets the target of 3,200 billable hours per month and foster staff retention through development and recognition programs.
- Implement and monitor clinic policies, handle infractions, and maintain accurate documentation in company systems.
Procedure Development & Playbook Creation:
- Create and document detailed clinical procedures for the Clinical Director role and key clinical practices.
- Develop and maintain a clinical playbook with procedures, documentation protocols, and supervision guidelines.
- Regularly update the playbook to reflect changes in policies, best practices, and compliance standards, ensuring consistency in clinical operations.
Strategic Alignment & Growth:
- Align clinic performance with company growth objectives, including client retention and new client onboarding.
- Report clinic performance to the Regional Director, focusing on staff productivity and billable hour compliance.
- Contribute to the development of policies that drive scalability and operational efficiency while fostering clinical excellence.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Client Billable Hours: Ensure clients maintain at least 80% billable hours, with BCBAs meeting weekly targets.
- SMART KPI: Each BCBA maintains a total caseload aligned with objectives, and all clients achieve at least 80% billable hours for one month out of every six months.
Clinic Hours & Revenue: Ensure the clinic achieves 3,200 billable hours per month to support revenue goals.
- SMART KPI: Monthly clinic billable hours ≥ 3,200.
POC Timeliness: Ensure compliance across all BCBAs with timely submission of Plan of Care reviews.
- SMART KPI: 100% of POCs are submitted at least 45 days before the due date.
Procedure Documentation: Ensure clinical procedures and playbooks are documented and regularly updated.
- SMART KPI: 100% of procedures are documented in the playbook and updated quarterly.
Performance Feedback: Provide formalized performance feedback and implement PIPs for underperforming staff within set timeframes.
- SMART KPI: 100% of staff receive performance feedback within 7 days of quarterly reviews, and PIPs are implemented within 14 days of identified issues.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications
Required:
- BCBA Certification (Board Certified Behavior Analyst)
- At least 5 years of experience in an ABA clinical setting
- Proficiency in Central Reach or similar ABA data management systems
- Experience in conducting FBAs, developing BIPs, and managing client programs
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field
- Leadership experience in a clinical setting (e.g., Clinical Director or Lead BCBA role)
- Experience scaling clinical services or managing multiple clinic locations
Key Competencies

- Strong understanding of ABA principles, including conducting FBAs and creating BIPs.
- Proficiency in ABA data systems like Central Reach and clinical procedure development.
- Ability to document procedures and develop clinical playbooks.
